Menorca – The Best Family Holiday!

What a holiday! This was the third one that we’ve been on as a family and it was by far my favourite, I’ve never been to Menorca before and it was absolutely perfect for a family holiday.

The island is quite small with a bit of a drive inbetween the different pockets of civilisation therefore you need to rely either on cars or buses to get out and about if you wanting an exploring holiday.

For us, we were happy just pottering about and the location that we chose was absolutely perfect for that. Our hotel was call Camera Beach in Cala n Bosch which was towards the bottom of the island. The transfer from the airport took about 50 minutes and the hotel was exactly what we were looking for!

We decided to go self-catering as Craig and I really enjoy going on a bit of a hunt for food and wanted to be able to use the facilities of an apartment to make Charlotte food as and when she wanted it. One of my favourite bits of the holiday was when we sat outside eating our breakfast when it was still so quiet and still.

The hotel was literally on the edge of the most beautiful beach, packed with beachgoers during the day yet so untouched on an evening. To my absolute delight, Charlotte finally decided that she loved the sea and we spent countless hours playing and watching the waves.

Cala n Bosch had a beautiful marina which was literally the most perfect place for young families with a wide variety of food to try. It’s not the place to for bars or a girls holiday as such as it really was just full of people wanting a quieter holiday.

We went beach hoping one day, spent loads of time playing by the pool, did a train ride of the island and spent lots of quality time together as a family.

I’d really recommend visiting Menorca if you’ve got young children, it really was the perfect place for families. The flight was around 2 hours long from Leeds Bradford which was perfect for keeping Charlotte occupied on the plane, if you’ve got plenty of snacks, toys and an emergency tablet with Hey Dugge – you’ll be absolutely fine!

I’d love to hear where other people have taken young children, we are keen to do as much as we can as I feel that it will help with Charlotte getting used to travelling about.
